Twenty years in the making, a landmark moment in photographic history arrives at Irvine City Hall.
Join us for the opening reception of “20 Years Later: The Great Picture” tomorrow, June 11, from 5–7 p.m. at Irvine City Hall.
This exhibition revisits the making of The Great Picture—the world’s largest photograph, measuring 31 by 111 feet—created in 2006 using a converted airplane hangar turned pinhole camera.
The image captures the former El Toro Marine Corps Air Station, now the Great Park, and showcases the collaborative work of Jerry Burchfield, Mark Chamberlain, Jacques Garnier, Rob Johnson, Douglas McCulloh, and Clayton Spada of The Legacy Project.
Don’t miss this opening reception. Save the date and learn more at cityofirvine.gov/artatcityhall.
