If you’re looking for something cool to do in Irvine, head on over to the Great Park Ice & FivePoint Arena. It’s easy to find, just off of Sand Canyon Avenue, in the Great Park. There are four ice rinks at Great Park Ice, including the FivePoint Arena, which has a seating capacity of 2,500. There’s always something going on – sometimes even an Anaheim Ducks practice session! Great Park Ice offers a ton of other activities if going out on the ice isn’t suitable.
Events & Activities
There is something for everyone at Great Park Ice. No matter what your chosen sport on ice is, you’ll find it here. Great Park Ice hosts many classes, events, and leagues. There are several youth and adult hockey leagues that meet throughout the week, including daily pick up hockey. On Thursday nights there is even a curling league. Every day there is something different happening.
Between the Rinks Restaurant
After you’ve worked up an appetite on the ice, head up to Between the Rinks restaurant, which is located on the second floor of Great Park Ice. It is above ice rink 1 & 2 so you’ll have excellent views of the action below. It is one of Irvine’s best sports bars. If the ice rinks and TVs don’t keep your attention, there’s a foosball table and dome hockey game next to the wall of hockey pucks. Between the Rinks is definitely one of the best sports bars in Irvine.
When you get hungry, all of the food is made to order and very reasonable. Most of the menu items are easily shared. Don’t be shy about ordering more. Everything is very reasonable at $10-15 per entrée.
The Outlaw BBQ flatbread was our favorite, but everything was very good.
